What Happened in Feb? + March Challenge!!

Soooo can we just call February a wash?!

I wouldn’t say it was completely unproductive, but I certainly didn’t remain consistent!!

I exercised a total of SEVEN times during the month of February!!  I didn’t resume my workouts until the second week of February (I think I was too busy eating cake smh), worked out once during the third week, and none at all during the fourth week.  Finally for the fifth week, I said I’ll do my best to end the month strong, thus I worked out on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday!

A lot occurred personally, but not over the course of the entire month.  I’m positive that a good part of my lack of exercise had to do with the fact that I no longer had a special event to “work towards” now that my birthday shoot had come and gone.  I shouldn’t have to rely on an upcoming occasion in order to exercise, and I’ve had a couple of conversations with myself regarding this issue.  Because like I said in January, it is mind over matter.  But because I realized I wasn’t exercising, I made sure to take the stairs up and down during my workday.  I work on the 8th floor, so it definitely spiked my heart rate for a bit a few times a day.

The one thing I did do regarding my fitness challenge was stick within my eating window and finally purchase a new water bottle.  The bottle has time markers on it, so that has helped a lot.  Since getting it, I’ve found myself making a huge effort to actually consume the water by the time of day it is.  I’m always excited when I’ve met or surpassed the time marker.

In addition to the fitness, I didn’t quite stick to my reading either. It was the same with the fitness, on and off.

Skin care was okay.  I implemented a new skin care regimen via the Urban Skin RX line about two weeks ago.  I’m still feeling it out, and making some modifications to it, so I won’t make any remarks on it right now.  I wanted to incorporate some mini-facials and DIY honey masks into the mix, but only did it once.  This winter season has been extremely harsh on my already dry skin, so I started a little skin care journal on my phone back in December to document what has and hasn’t worked for me.

Let me know if you have dry skin and what you’ve done for it as the seasons change!!

What did I learn?!

I got too comfy this month, and at times found myself doing things I had no business doing.  Such as browsing FB or IG.  Everyone knows that going on FB or IG for 5 minutes can turn into 2-3 hours aka a waste of precious time.  In order to keep focused, I’ve actually had to delete those apps from my phone occasionally, and I may have to start doing it again.

But March is here…

So, I won’t dwell on February any longer, but I would like to accomplish something from my February challenge to the best of my ability!  I’ll carry over my challenges from March, but I’ll add one more!

Throughout the course of March, I will challenge myself to:

– Work on making this melanin GLOW!

– Read for at least 20 minutes every night

– Do some form of activity for at least 30 minutes 3-4 times/week

(I will do these for real this time!)

And also:

– Continue getting my financial life in order!  I was able to pay off my car loan in 2017.  About a year earlier than scheduled.  I shocked myself a bit when I realized I was able to reel in self control and allocate extra funds toward it.  This is going to help as I navigate the real estate investment game, and have been learning how to implement OPM (Other People’s Money) 😉

How was your February?!  What are you challenging yourself to do this month?!  We have 31 days!  Let’s make it happen!
