From March to… + June Challenge!!

Wasn’t it just March??  How is it June already?!

We are HALFWAY through the year!

H A L F W A Y !!     S I X   M O N T H S  I N !

I remember starting a new blog post for March…and then it was June.

I honestly didn’t think my unintentional hiatus would be noticed, but when I started to get called out by a few friends, I said…

Life happened.  Changes occurred.  But no excuses, so I won’t list any details here.

I will say that I am most definitely a work in progress in going from procrastination to consistency.  Nevertheless, I’m going to continue taking the steps necessary to move forward.

So what’s new?!

Since March, I’ve been on and off with my exercise and dedicated reading time (more off than on), have been doing much better with improving my skin care regimen, my finances, and made more headway with my REI.

::Quick update:: I remember mentioning Urban Skin RX in my last blog post.  I wanted to see how it would work within my skin care regimen and they SUCKED!! 👎🏿  I have extremely dry skin and have always had an issue with retaining moisture (unless I’m in Grenada – I typically have zero issues with my skin when I’m in Grenada – it actually gets better).  But this past Winter was absolutely ridiculous for me in terms of dry skin.  It wasn’t until my friend, Kizzi, gave me a suggestion which worked wonders that I was finally able to battle the harsh Winter season so much more smoothly!  🙌🏿 Thanks for that tip lady!

For the next 30 days of June:

I’m still not giving up on my fitness goal.  Exercise hasn’t yet become a habit unfortunately, so I’m going to make an effort yet again.  I’ll start back with 30 minutes of activity at least twice a week.

No meat for one month.  ::gasp:: Now this will definitely be a challenge, as I’m one of those people who believes that a meal isn’t a meal unless some form of fish or chicken is included.  But, in keeping in line with my fitness goal, I’ll remove all forms of meat from my lifestyle for the next 30 days.  I’ve slowly been reducing my meat intake over the past few months, so I don’t think it’ll be too difficult.  We are entering the kickoff of BBQ season, but I’ll do my best to eat clean.

Skin care.  I am now targeting my hyperpigmentation, since my random breakouts have subsided somewhat.  My friend, Tanica, has also been quite helpful in sharing tips/recommendations.  My main focus now is to ensure my face remains moisturized, my hyperpigmentation is reduced or disappears altogether, and my melanin POPS!!  I’m continuously doing research/skin consults to see what products would work best for my skin type.  But, if you also have dry skin and have found a product/regimen that’s worked for you, feel free to drop a comment below!

Continue to get my finances in order.  Over the past 6 months, I’ve raised my credit score over 40 points, reduced my credit utilization to 21%, and nearly doubled my available credit.  In an effort to accomplish some personal goals, I did a few things, but I noticed that the most impact was made when I simply put away my credit cards and completed some 0% balance transfers.  I’m glad I’ve been able to see some financial progress as 2018 has continued.  This hasn’t gone without making some sacrifices, and I used to have a bit of FOMO honestly.  But, my desire to seriously achieve certain goals has allowed me to overlook that.  The fetes and trips can miss me for now.  I’ll live.

Take steps towards purchasing my first income-producing property.  Over the past few months, I’ve been making some headway regarding my real estate investment goals and would like to delve even further for the month of June.  Getting my financial life in order was a major step in ensuring this becomes a reality.

It’s JUNE and it’s time for a mid-year review!!  How has the first part of your 2018 been?

Let’s chat about the good, the bad, and the ugly!

What do you want to accomplish for the month of June and the second half of 2018?

If you don’t have any particular goals/outcomes to work towards, I challenge you to find something you’ve been saying you need to improve, and getting started.  What will it be?!
